When there is a lack of clarity about the goal we are after—whether in sports, our jobs, or even in the church—we will decide for ourselves. In the absence of a clear and unifying mission in religion we have conflict, tension and even violence and war – and it’s all because we fill in the gaps. What is our job? What is our mission?
